I can't believe it's been almost three weeks since the babies were born. They have gotten so much bigger already and totally have their own distinct personalities. H has gone from 4 pounds 15 oz. to 6 pounds 2 oz. and she is a little diva and a half! G went from 6 pounds 12 oz. to 7 pounds 5 oz., but he had gotten down to 6 pounds 2 oz. at one point, so we're back on track now. He is definitely the laid back one of the two and is very cuddly.
J's mom has been here since we got home from the hospital and her dad just flew in a couple days ago. It's been really nice to have so much help, but at the same time, I am feeling completely overwhelmed from having people around all the time. They leave on Monday and then my dad and step mom fly in on Wednesday. At least they're staying in a hotel. Otherwise I would probably have a nervous breakdown. ;)
I had a meltdown earlier tonight before J left for work. I think it was just everything hitting me at once - lack of sleep, J's horrible work schedule, no personal space, drama with my mom, hormones, etc. Things will be so much better once J is back to her regular work schedule so she will be home with me at night. Even if the babies decide to stay up all night, at least I will have her with me to go into battle! It will also be easier once the steady stream of visitors dries up. After my dad comes out here, J's brother and his wife will be flying out. And then there's my mom... Sigh. I am absolutely furious with her right now and I need to find a way to just stop caring. The problem is: I really want my sister to come out here to meet the babies, but she is a broke college student and I can't afford to fly her out here any time soon. The only way my mom will pay for a plane ticket is if she comes out here, too. And I just can't handle having my mom around until she pulls her head out of her ass, which may be never. J is starting to worry that I've got some PPD going on, but I'm not sure yet. I want to wait and see how I feel next week when we no longer have people staying with us and when the crap with my mother isn't so "fresh". If I'm still feeling like this, I'll call the doctor and ask for some meds. Better living through chemistry, right?
Speaking of meds, we're thinking H might have some reflux issues. She's been taking foreeeeeeeeeeever to eat because she keeps taking breaks to clear her throat or spit up. We adjusted the crib mattress so it's on a slight incline, hoping that might help. She slept a little better last night, but she was still spitting up. We mentioned this to the pediatrician last Friday and she said she can prescribe some reflux meds if it continues. I called the office and left a message earlier today, but they still haven't gotten back to me. Hopefully tomorrow.

On a better note, we brought H & G to meet our RE and donor coordinator a few days ago! It was strange but wonderful to sit in that waiting room with our babies and then it was so nice to see our RE!! He is seriously the sweetest man ever and you can really tell how much he loves what he does. It was great to see our coordinator, too! She told us about a local lesbian parenting group that she and her partner belong to and so we're all going to try to get together at the next group event.
Oh! We ordered birth announcements since we had some Shu.tterfly coupons!!! I think they turned out pretty nice.
And now I'm going to try to get some sleep while I have the chance...
